In its endeavor to support the Union City School System’s mission of “preparing our students to live, work, contribute and excel in an ever-changing world,” the Foundation has provided funding totaling over $800,000.

Examples of projects funded by the Foundation include:projects

We are pleased to report that the Foundation’s continued involvement in the classrooms has
yielded positive and measurable results. As examples,

  • More than $4 million in academic scholarships was awarded to the Class of 2015.
  • U.S. News and World Report recently named UCHS as one of Tennessee’s top high schools.
  • UC School System has been named an Exemplary School System by the TN Department of Education.
  • Honors classes are offered in grades 4-12.  Nine Honors and 7 AP classes are offered at UCHS.
  • In recent testing, 63% scored 3, 4 or 5 on AP exams.   (3+ carries the potential for college credit.)
  • Average ACT score for magnet students was 28.7, with 23 students scoring a 30 or higher.

Our ability to continue providing these valuable resources is dependent upon contributions to the
Foundation from our community, businesses and alumni.
